Lately I’ve been thinking about the little things that can make an ordinary day feel a little brighter. Like... A sunny afternoon. Flowers blooming on the porch. A really good iced coffee. Finding a new book you can’t wait to start. Putting fresh flowers in a little vase just because you have them. Nothing big or complicated. Just small things that make you happy when you notice them! That idea ended up finding its way into what I made for you this week. A new late-summer coffee recipeMy newest recipe is Mandarin Orange Cream Cold Foam, made with half-and-half, homemade mandarin orange simple syrup, and a little vanilla. I was inspired to make this recipe after seeing the new Orange Cream Cold Brew at Starbucks, especially since I already had a batch of my Mandarin Orange Simple Syrup in the fridge. The result has that familiar orange-and-cream combination, but with a fresh orange flavor that I especially love over iced coffee. It's perfect for these sunny late-summer days.
A little something for youI also made you a new printable affirmation card this week: I choose the little things that bring me joy. It’s covered in oranges, citrus blossoms, green leaves, and sunshine, and you can print it for your desk, save it in a journal, put it on your bulletin board, or place it somewhere you’ll see it often. You can also just save the image on your phone as a wallpaper, if you'd like. Download your free affirmation card here. And maybe let the card be a reminder to notice your own little things. Mine are usually something like:
Your list will probably look completely different. And I think that’s part of what makes the little things so special. They don't have to be impressive or productive or even make sense to anyone else. They just have to bring you a little joy. I’d love to know one of yours. Hit reply and tell me one little thing that’s been making you happy lately. Warmly, P.S. If you print your affirmation card, I’d love to see where you put it! |
